Week 1

So this was the first week of therapy and we had some highs and some lows, that's life. So Monday and Wednesday he had speech therapy at school. It was only 15 minutes each which I thought was a kinda waste of time. but he did well. Monday was a few words spoke but comfortable with the therapist. On Wednesday he did much better. She had him saying words from a picture book and he sat in a school chair and did it really good. His attention for that was about 10 minutes which is long for Henry.

So then we had in home therapy on Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday she was there for 45 minutes working on taking turns and sharing which was fine but he lost interest in that about 20 minutes in and then she just let him free play. Then Thursday she was late getting to the appointment and then was only there to take pictures of his favorite things for his book. That i assume is for if he cant communicate to us what he wants he can point to a picture but that isn't a problem for him and his favorite things. Then she left so she was only there maybe 20 minutes. Waste of time I think.

I hope that things start making a difference cause its going to be hard for him to go to school one day a week next month if he doesn't get all this sharing and listening. I just think he is going to have problems going into a group setting. I can tell him to share and take turns all day here but he is all by himself, well with me not completely alone all day.

Otherwise life is okay, its finally warming up here so bye bye snow HELLO spring! I am getting excited to see hubby again. Missing him a lot lately but remembering that this is the last big one for at least three years cause shore duty is next.
