Coping

So last night, I spent the night reading, trying to understand everything. I got a better understanding of autism spectrum disorder. To my understandings Henry has a very mild version and with some great therapy he should be able to control and manage it. I think he will be fine and am excited to hopefully get control of it.

I have done some research and I have come to conclusion in MY OPINION.....his shots did not cause this. he was like this before and after his shots. If i had to do it again I would give him his shots and all of them, like he has. I did find it interesting that Autism tends to run in families.

Also as I was reading I found that i have gone through all the emotional reactions
*shock and disbelief
*Denial
*Sadness
*Anger
*Blaming self
*guilt
* Fear regarding future

I am slowly reaching out to message boards and dealing with talking to others about this. I am finding that there. I ha e found lots of information for military children and autism.

I am doing my best to not make the kids lifes seem as normal as possible. not mentioning it to them at all.

One fact I found interesting is the 1 in 88 active duty dependent children have autism. Thats alot of children. The US as a total is 1 in 150 children.

Okay well that is my thoughts for today!
