Mark and I have always been spontaneous, never really planning anything, just going for it. Sometimes that turns out bad and sometimes it works out great. I believe that marrying Mark 10 years ago was one of those times that it worked out GREAT!!! Although no one in our families knew about our marriage for a few days later. I don't think we knew what to expect or do after saying I do. I think we just expected to live life as we had. He had just graduated from "A" school in Groton, ct. I was playing hooky from school, which wasn't bad. I was in college for my senior year of high school and only had one class in the morning at the high school so i was done at 9am. After getting married we had lunch at a subway and then went back to pack his bags, he had a 7pm flight to catch to join his new submarine in San Diego.
Although we never had a plan for this marriage, we have made it this far, even though many didn't think we would make it through the first year. But we have and we have two great children to show for it. Even though we rarely ever spend our anniversary together, he is off in world keeping it safe, this one being no different. I think we are at 3/10 years. 2 of them came just after our children were born. I guess it pays to have them born so close to our anniversary. hahahahah. The funny thing is 4 of our anniversaries have fallen during all 4 of his deployments. Thanks Navy for that one.
One year he took me on a vacation for our anniversary. It was the year after Makalia was born, it was 2005, 4 years married. We were living in Virginia Beach, Va and we went to Groton, Ct. How romantic right? NOT! He made sailor of the year on his boat and we went to Groton for the area sailor of the year convention, not sure if that is what they called it but it was to have meetings and determine who was going to represent the area. We got to stay on base and got to go and sight see. We took Makalia, who was 2 1/2 months to an aquarium. Although he didn't make the area sailor of year, because he was so young. It was a nice time to spend as a family.
Even as I sit here alone in my kitchen writing about happy times in our marriage, there always the lows, as in any. but we pull up our boot straps and muster on. This a marriage that I think is gonna last a life time, or till one of us kills each other. just kidding. I always say that this first 20 years of marriage is going to be the easiest, the next 20 is gonna be the hardest, since we will have to live together then. I am missing him a lot today and really wished I would have said Happy Anniversary Honey, but whose brain is fully functional when he calls at midnight.
Happy Anniversary Honey, here's to the next 10! Love Mrs Senior Khaki Pants....

HOW SWEET!!! It takes a special breed of women to marry into the military, its tough and lonely but we do what we have to do. Our ten year is in July, its crazy how time has gone by. Happy Anniversary again!
